Church Rooms-our Painswick Church Hall
Originally, the Church Rooms Building was used as the back ranges of the Painswick Infant School, later part of the former Painswick County Primary School.
In the 1980’s a brand new primary school (The Croft) was buit in Churchill Way to replace the Victorian school in Stroud Road. Subsequently the old school building was divided. One part, the front, became the County Council Library and the church acquired the rear of the building. The church portion is now known as St. Mary’s Church Rooms and consists of a large room (the Assembly Room ) and a small room (Derek Hodges Room). In addition there are toilets,a disabled toilet and baby changing area, a small, well-equipped kitchen and programmmmable central heating. There are two entrances to the Rooms. A front entrance leads into the churchyard in the south-west corner. The rear entrance leads to the main village car park (entrance off Stamages Lane.). There is parking for a few cars on church land at this rear entrance.
The Church Rooms are available for hire for one off events (such as a childrens party) or for regular events (such as dance classes or art classes).
